Shehroze Kashif Sets Record as Youngest Climber to Scale 12 Eight-Thousanders

Pakistan's Shehroze Kashif has achieved a remarkable feat in mountaineering by becoming the youngest climber to conquer 12 of the world's 14 eight-thousanders. He recently reached the summit of Dhaulagiri-I, which stands at 8,167 meters and is the seventh-highest mountain globally, in Nepal.

Embarking on his final summit push, Shehroze commenced his ascent last night and successfully reached the top of Dhaulagiri on Wednesday morning, thereby adding another peak to his impressive tally.

At the age of 21, Shehroze has surpassed the previous record held by Nepal's Mingma David Sherpa, who achieved the feat of climbing all 14 eight-thousanders at the age of 30. Shehroze has two more peaks remaining, Cho-Oyu and Shishapangma, to complete his ambitious goal.

Shehroze also became the second and youngest Pakistani to conquer Dhaulagiri-I, following in the footsteps of renowned climber Sirbaz Ali Khan from the Hunza Valley.

Referred to as "Broad Boy" due to his exceptional achievement of scaling Broad Peak, which stands at 8,051 meters, at the age of 17, Shehroze holds the record for being the youngest climber to summit various peaks above 8,000 meters, including K2 and Kangchenjunga.

His mountaineering journey began in July 2019 when he conquered Broad Peak, followed by his successful ascent of Mount Everest at the age of 19 in 2021. That same year, he also conquered K2 and Manaslu. In 2022, Shehroze accomplished the remarkable feat of scaling Kangchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum-I, and Gasherbrum-II.

Earlier this year, he reached the summit of Annapurna, which ranks as the tenth highest mountain peak globally.

Shehroze Kashif's remarkable achievements in mountaineering are a testament to his skill, determination, and passion for conquering new heights. With each peak he scales, he continues to inspire others and leave a lasting mark in the world of mountaineering.
