The international think tank 'The Institute of Economic and Peace' has ranked 163 countries in terms of peace in the 2019 report. Pakistan is ranked 153 out of 163 countries in this report.
The world's most peaceful countries are Iceland, followed by New Zealand, while Portugal, Austria and Denmark are third, fourth and fifth.
Among the least peaceful countries in the world, Afghanistan ranks first, Syria ranks second, and South Sudan and Yemen rank third and fourth. In this list, India ranks twenty-second, Iran ranks twenty-fourth, while America ranks thirty-fifth among the least peaceful countries in the world.
In the same list in 2018, Pakistan was ranked 151 i.e. twelfth. According to defense analyst Dr. Maria Sultan, the report ranks various aspects on the basis of countering extremism as well as economic stability. Among the indicators they have picked up are economic stability, extremism, and thirdly, the extent to which people see positive peace in proportion to negative peace.
According to Dr. Maria, although there has been a decrease in the incidence of extremism in Pakistan, the war between Pakistan and India in the same year may have increased the proportion of conflict.
According to this latest report, the world is the most peaceful for the first time in five years, which is attributed to a decrease in the intensity of major conflicts in the world that are causing more deaths, but the world is still not so peaceful. As much as ten years ago.
